During this trip to the food bank, our students helped to pack Monthly Commodity Boxes, or MCBs... What are MCBs? Well...They are boxes packed with goodies to provide nutritional sustenance to members of the community! Each food box contains about 30 pounds of canned meat, vegetables, fruit, cereal, pasta or rice or potatoes, evaporated or dry milk, dry beans or peanut butter and cheese. Students pick their place on the assembly line and pack boxes with the necessary goods as they pass by! In just a few short hours these amazing kids packed over 700 boxes for the community...awesome!

AACT students worked with Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful to clean out drainage ditches in Rancho San Rafael park. The ditches were overflowing with litter and debris that were interfering with water flow to the park's natural landscape. 5 hours later we had cleared out over 5 truckloads of debris!
These awesome students spent 5 hours cleaning up litter and debris from Rock Park in Sparks! “KTMB’s Truckee River Cleanup Day is a great reminder to always make sure your trash gets in a trash can or recycling bin,” said Christi Cakiroglu, Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful (KTMB) executive director. “We have a beautiful river running right through our community that provides our drinking water and a great place to fish, boat or play, but it’s up to us to keep it healthy and beautiful.”
